terpinolene

Terpinolene is a sedative terpene that, similarly to camphene, produces an acrid smoke when burned. However, cannabis patients can still benefit from its presence thanks to its ability to prevent the spread of cancer. Surprisingly, terpinolene does not have any anti-inflammatory or pain-relieving properties. Instead, patients should rely on this terpene to help them fall asleep. A 2013 study showed that nasal absorption of terpinolene in mice had a significant sedative effect that helped promote sleep. Human trials are still needed but the initial research is promising. Cancer patients should also expect to see some benefits from terpinolene. A pair of studies demonstrated that this terpene can act as a "potent antiproliferative agent for brain tumour cells" in mice and can also downregulate certain proteins which can slow the spread of cancer.
